London (Member of the Institution of  Mechanical Engineers), Manager and Engineer at Brisbane for John Lysaght Ltd.,  (Bristol), Manufacturers of Galvanised Iron and Black Steel Sheets, 4326-444  Ann St., Brisbane, Queensland. Born Chester, England, April 20, 1882. Son of  John Lightfoot Walker, of Chester, England, and Hannah Dimelo Walker, of  Wellington, England. Educated Wellington College, Wellington, Salop, England.  Arrived in Australia 1913. Commenced professional career as a pupil of the  Phoenix Engineering Co., Chester, England, 1897-1899; a pupil with Beyer,  Peacock and Co., Manchester, England, 1899-1903; during 1903 was at different  works at Clyde for the purpose of gaining experience; 1904-5, draughtsman with  D. and W. Henderson, Glasgow, Scotland: 1905-6, inspecting engineer with Nash  and Son, Sheffield, England; 1906-9, inspecting engineer Sir A.M. Rendel,  Longon; 1909-13, held the position of manager with John Lysaught Ltd., England;  and 1913 was appointed manager in Australia. 
     
     Married Margaret McCuaig, eldest  daughter of Rev. Angus McCuaig, of Jura, N.B., Jan 21, 1907. 
     Two sons and two  daughters. Recreations: Shooting, fishing and motoring.
